No reason why you cannot. I am sure Our Lady would be delighted.

I don’t know what applies re the scapular nowadays but back when I was confirmed and around 45 years ago:D , after Confirmation we were ‘enrolled in the scapular’ and received our scapular from our parish priest…our school adjoined our Church and parish house. I dont remember much about the little ceremony at all. At the same time those who wished to do so ‘took the pledge’ and pledged not to drink alchohol until after 21yrs of age. Mum had a talk with me about this explaining that a pledge was serious and that 21yrs was a long way away. Hence I did not stand up and take the pledge, to the consternation indeed of the nuns.
Others may be far more helpful to you re the scapular…Blessings - Barb.

It occured to me to check the internet. Came up with these, and yes, enrollment still exists…from a quick read from the links below, this enrollment can be done by a priest or an authorized lay person. If perchance your parish priest cannot help you, then ring a Carmelite Monastery of priests or nuns, or if you would just like to wear it, then I am sure Our Lady would be delighted, as I said.

From the FAQ of the Rose Scapular Company…

I’m not Catholic but I want to wear the Scapular, what if I can’t get to a priest to enroll me? Our answer is put it on anyway and wear it faithfully, try to get to a priest to enroll you if you can. Otherwise we leave you in the hands of the Blessed Mother and Jesus, they often work miracles as we have seen so many times with the Scapular.

Andruschak writing again: the brown scapular is not a get-out-of-hell-free card. As a sacremental, it is an outward sign of inner devotion to Mary. Consider also wearing The Green Scapular. And try to live life as if Mother Mary was looking over you, as she will be.

Good point about the get out of hell free.

Though one point to make with the green scapular - it does not need to be worn to be effective.
