The conference is still on on thanks to the Evangelicals. The Oratory management may have been concerned as much about the potential for vandalism after the fact, because of the riot at the HLI conference in Montreal, many years ago, though they had to have known that already. There was some damage to nearby churches, though I don’t know the totals, At least one police car was burned.

I wish the Holy Father would come himself and lead the group to the Oratory from the Evangelical church. What an opportunity for unity that would be.
If he would even offer a contingent of the Pontifical Swiss Guard (the Holy Father’s “Secret Service” to those unfamiliar with them), it would really help, especially by forcing the governments to act, and by shining a spotlight on the entire incident, whatever happens. Even liberals believe in freedom of speech and association.
Pro-lifers ARE willing to risk death for the sake of these so very important truths. It isn’t always a firing squad; sometimes it;s just eggs or jeers… or being unpopular, alone, and rejected.
Is there such a thing as a silent Catholic? Is it Catholic to allow the truth to be silenced? What about the next time. The cowards who fear WORDS have succeded, and will continue their campaign of lies.
