The latest news out of Canada, it appears, is that the reigning PM, Justin Trudeau, will pull all military support out of the Middle East and turn Canadian military bases into refugee centers, build mosques on them, fund distribution of the Qur’an and prayer mats at cost to Canadian taxpayers.
The Canadian military has been ordered by Justin Trudeau’s Liberals to draft plans to house more than 6,000 Muslim migrants on a long-term basis at military bases, according to documents obtained exclusively by The Rebel.

The air support combat role is being pulled, but the on the ground training / assistance role is being increased.

Well Canada appears to be following the words of Christ (and the Pope) to “welcome the stranger”.

Good for them.

Are you claiming the Liberal government in Canada is striving to be faithful to “the Catholic ethic?”

Would that include the corporal acts of dismembering babies and euthanizing the elderly and uncared for which are prominent “corporal acts” promoted by the Liberal party? It is debatable whether these constitute “mercy” in the way intended by Jesus in the Beatitudes.

In addition, it seems a tad incongruous and discriminatory to ONLY make Muslim refugees the beneficiaries of these corporal acts of mercy, including ONLY providing copies of the Qur’an and ONLY building mosques on these bases as if there were some special reason for ignoring millions of Christian refugees.

I believe the UN agreement on refugees is for the global community to support the refugees in their home region. This approach allows them to be properly cared for and still return to their homes after stability has been restored.

The recent trend of shipping millions of refugees around the world is a huge mistake. The focus should be on restoring stability to their home country.

What I meant by “give it a few years” is that what we have to look forward to is what is currently happening in Europe.

The Beatitudes do not involve inviting wolves into the sheepfold, which is what the “shepherds” – the leaders – of modern western countries are doing at great cost to those they are supposed to be protecting.

Now it might be conscionable to invite wolves if the sheep were sufficiently armed with true Christian weapons to withstand the attacks by the wolves, but the problem is that the nominal “Christians” in modern western countries are themselves too weak to make any kind of defense. What leaders in western countries are doing is more akin sacrificing babes in arms to wolves under the guise of being tolerant to wolfish behaviour – i.e., child sacrifice to Moloch under the pretentious righteousness that Moloch, too, has a right to be fed.

Of course, the prevalence of abortion and the abandonment of any sense of real justice in modern western cultures under government sanction proves that these governments have no intention to protect their own vulnerable citizens or their futures.

The word is “lose,” by the way.
 
Canada and the USA are the country’s of Immigrants - its the foundation of both - unless your Native First Nations you come from immigrant blood - these people have just as much right as anyone else here to start a new life and begin again. I welcome them to Canada and hope they find a place in our great nation. May God bless them.

Canada was once a “great nation” and was made that by immigrants who settled there with basic core and shared beliefs and purpose regarding the value of human life, a shared sense of the good and that true liberty was a product of hard work, sacrifice, virtue and responsibility.

All of those cohesive principles have been tossed and derided. The fumes of “great nation” persist but will soon evaporate precisely because what has replaced those great principles are the shallow and largely contradictory “values” of diversity under the heavy hand of egalitarian identity, tolerance but only with regard to what is socially tolerable, license in opposition to authentic personal freedom and the inordinate rise of entitlement driving the political agenda.

We will see how long this “great nation” will remain. Rome was once a “great” empire but it collapsed under the weight of its excesses. No “great nation” is immune to becoming mediocre, or worse. Sustaining “greatness” on fumes cannot last.
 
I will point out that Canada is not the land of automatic weapons and hand guns . Automatic weapons are outlawed in Canada and hand guns require a permit can only be used on a target range and the ammo and hand gum must be transported in separate compartments and stored in this way also or you will be charged if caught . Also the RCMP does a complete back ground check on everyone who purchases a firearm. If automatic weapons make to Canada they come illegally from the USA the land of guns. So we don’t have the same concerns as Americans due to our laws. Yes Terror attacks have and can happen in Canada but its way more difficult than in the USA.

You can purchase a shotgun or a rifle for hunting. But only as a semi-auto or a hand gun if you like target practice - of course with a complete background check on you before the purchase is allowed - works for us.

Refugees are more than welcome to come to Canada but will be subject to out laws.

Well, that is the part that I am very skeptical about. And what makes me even more skeptical is that “out laws” are more and more without ground or substance. The grounding principles behind just and legitimate laws are not well understood by the electorate who increasingly are changing those laws for groundless reasons. The refugees who are arriving have little or no respect for those laws and have little inducement to be “subject” to them and far more to change them.

This, in fact, is what is troublesome because existing citizens have little understanding of what constitutes true justice and even less moral fortitude to defend it. The “out laws” you claim the refugees will be “subject to” are little more than a facade which will be assailed and demolished by those very same refugees you claim will be “subject” to the laws precisely because the “liberal activists” have successfully starved and weakened to the point of death the moral spirit of the nation.
