Since my last prayer thread, I have unfortunately been diagnosed with a cancerous breast tumour. Although I was pretty well expecting this, it was still a shock.

The good news is it is thought to be primary, of a slow-growing kind and the doctor doesn’t think it has spread. This will not be certain, however, until the lump and a few lymph nodes have been removed. I will probably get the surgery around October (hopefully early rather than later) and once analysis of lump and lymph nodes is complete (it could take 8-12 weeks after surgery), I would get a course of radiotherapy. So despite the hopeful diagnosis, I still have a very stressful time ahead, especially as I already suffer from anxiety. Apart from the diagnosis itself, I am anxious as to how we will manage financially when I’m unable to work ( I’m not entitled to sick pay as I’m a casual/relief worker, not on a contract).

So I would appreciate any prayers to see me and my husband through all this. Thanks to all who have prayed for me as I was waiting for the diagnosis.
 
So sorry to hear of the diagnosis … my prayers will be with you throughout this difficult time.

In spirituality they quoted Father Charles Grondin as saying something very profound … I wanted to share it with you …

“…remember that God does not get us out of anything, but He will get us through everything.”

Stay close to God throughout this time, He will get you through it.

I’m so sorry! I pray that God gives you and your husband a double portion of His peace during this difficult time. And I pray that he provides for your financial needs as well.

I’m sorry you have this road to take right now, but not only you and your family but your health care team will also be in my prayers.
I know this is not easy.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal Procla. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Procla’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to St. Anthony for Those With Cancer

Dear St. Anthony, you recognized Our Lord Jesus as the Divine Healer. In your goodness and kindness, please intercede for Procla, who is suffering from cancer. If it is God’s will, may the gift of healing be granted to him. Comfort him during times of unbearable pain, and ask our Lord to grant him peace and patience in suffering. May God give him the fullness of life here on earth. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
