Aicirt, I have lifted Brian up in prayer. May the Lord bless and keep him throughout his surgery and recovery. May His peace descend upon him. May He aid the medical staff in the operating room and throughout his recovery. May He protect and nurture him. May He bring peace upon his family. May Brian grow in faith and character from this very unfortunate process. God, please be with your child, Brian, tomorrow morning, and his entire family. Thank you for all your prayers. He was awake shortly after the operation and by yesterday, three days after the surgery, he was sitting. God watched over him. The doctors found it was not necessary to take the lower jaw. They used flesh from his body to reconstruct a tongue so he’d be able to use his voice box to some degree. He will be using a feeding tube. He hopes after six seeks of recuperation with his family to return to his own home and live by himself. He has been fighting this disease for 12 years. :grouphug:

An update: The doctors did not have to remove the lower jaw. Since the operation, they have found no cancer. He e-mailed last week and said he can talk almost as well as he did before. The doctors grafted skin from under his arm and attached it to his voice box. This is amazing. He has fought off an infection and pneumonia. He uses an IPad. Please continue to pray for him. Cancer was detected when he was 29 and a tumor appeared at 41. Been a long battle.
