hey,

I have a favor to ask,
the mother of one of my best friends has cancer for more than over a year now, and about a week ago the tumors had grown and now they say that there’s nothing further they can do for her and that she only has a year left!
My friend is 15, almost 16 now, and she has already lost a few people the last 1.5 years. So it would be terrible if she lost her mother too:(
I pray for them every night. I was hoping some people here could pray for them too.

I can relate to her as I lost my own Dad to cancer when I was just 13.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. I am praying.
May God help your friend’s mother heal, but if in His love and wisdom He considers it is time for her to go Home, may He grant your friend and her mother a fruitful time together full of love and understanding that help them prepare to face whatever comes.
May her Heavenly Mother, Mary, make her feel her loving embrace and help her realize she has not suffered ‘losses’ because all those that have gone to Heaven before her are present in her life in a different way, and through the Communion of Saints they look after her and keep praying for her.
May she find comfort knowing she will meet them again someday.

It sounds like such a difficult time for your friend. When drs give a prognosis (such as 1yr to live, etc.) it is not a schedule - there really is no way that we can know how long a person has to live. It is an overwhelming situation to be told that there is no further treatment. Your friend and her family must be comforted to know that through their darkest times, that you are there to support them and pray for them. If they want to look into clinical trials, the National Cancer Institute www.cancer.gov as well as the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org have up to date listings as well as support services.

Don’t worry Willow, I’ll pray for her for sure. Until she gets better, she’ll be remembered in many of my rosaries from here on out, I promise.
 
Jesus please help this girl in the sadness she faces in her mothers’ illness and possible loss. Please give her much faith and protection.

My mother lost her Mum at that age, and I a year older, so my love and prayers go to your friend. May God be kind and merciful to her.
