No I’m not giving medical advice, I am stating facts. Something you have so far failed to do.

And no its not my nation, I’m British.

Wait a second, because it was once banned, I should not be endorsing it? Hypocrite. Cannabis is banned in your country, therefore you shouldn’t be endorsing it.

Actually, mice are used in experiments because they are mammals and their DNA is very similar to our own, making them likely to respond in a similar manner to various drugs/procedures. Also, their life cycles are short, so multi-generational tests can be performed. And yes, they are cheap and take up little space. If mice did not respond in a similar way to humans during medical testing, there would be no point in using them at all, unless the only goal is to cure cancer in mice

Marijuana can absolutely be used responsibly and in moderation, and saying it cannot is a flat-out falsehood with ZERO evidence to back it up. It is very possible to use just enough so that one barely feels the effects at all, just a very minor sense of relaxation, like cammomile tea. I (like another poster on this thread) used it frequently in college, graduated in 4 years with 2 degrees and the top award in my department, and went on to earn my Master’s degree with nearly a 4.0 and a genius-level IQ. I am not trying to brag here, just to illustrate that it is very possible to use marijuana responsibly with no detriment to one’s mental faculties, one’s health, or one’s emotional well-being. Actually, it also helped a lot with my OCD.
I’m kinda getting a little bit fed up of this now.
Maybe you’re confused because of the cannabis you’re smoking. It is ME who is the one who has been posting evidence to back it up, YOU are the one who are posting zero evidence. Ugh.
I’ve lost count of the scientific studies and sources I have posted affirming that marijuana is not only NOT detrimental to a person’s health, but can be used medicinally. If you choose not to read or follow up on those sources, that is your problem.

Also, I haven’t smoked cannabis in quite a long time, but trust me when I say that it did me no harm when I was earning 2 Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree in a foreign language.

Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Marijuana is more dangerous than cigarettes to your health. Furthermore, marijuana affects your judgement and your ability to discern and choose between right and wrong, making marijuana use a grave moral evil.
Marijuana doesn’t have to be smoked to be enjoyed.

And alcohol also affects the judgement and discernment and the Church sees no problem with it.

Read the thread, you’ll find plenty.

And benedict you stated that the drugs doctors give for pain relief are useless and bad for you, and that cannabis is the best thing to use. That is medical advice. I can quote you if you want. 🙂
I will go there. Feel free. Quote me! 😉

Just be sure you buy it from a legitimate source. Also, I have heard different things about it. I personally think pot is better for a person as pain killer, than the narchtics the doctors push, and for some people It is better for anxiety than the stuff the docs push. In moderation of course. Over doing anything can be bad. 🙂
Is this the quote lemonandlime? Where I give a personal opinon? Lets do this.😃

And Lemonandlime. as to your charge of me smoking pot, I can count on one hand how many times I have smoked it, and I have not smoked it in 20 years. 😃 Nice try though at assasinating my charachter.

That’s certainly medical advice, how do you know it is better? “Personal opinion” does not justify what you’re saying, and I have a good idea that is why the mods got involved in this thread as that is the post that was reported.

I’m going to unsubscribe from this thread and will no longer participate. It’s began to get to the point now that I feel I am entertaining a group of childlike trolls.

Goodbye 👍

Just for the record. When I am not globe trotting, hunting Terrorist, I DO work the road, in one of those little cars with the bubble gum machine uptop, that you really dont want to see in your rear view mirror. That being said, I can honestly say. Most domestic assault calls I get, involve some sort of Alchohol. I have yet to go on one, Where Mary Jane was a factor. I also had a neighbor who is a State Police officer, who I had this conversation with. I did not know he was a cop at that point. but when I brought this up, and asked how many cops go on calls like this where Pot was a factor, he replied, “NEVER.” 🙂 So maybe the poster who said Alchohol in moderation is ok and Healthy, needs to rethink their position?
Benidict, with all due respect to your profession (and thank you again for your military service)…There can and is an overlap with drug use. So pot smokers can and do also abuse alcohol, and just because you see a drunk who is violent does not mean he or she does not also smoke pot sometimes. You also may not see the destruction that pot causes - maybe a pot head doesn’t beat his wife, but he spends the household money on drugs. Just because you don’t see the connection does not mean that smoking pot has a neutral effect on society.

Alcohol abuse is VERY destructive. That is true. But all drug use is destructive to individuals and society in general. We don’t have to play one against the other and say “my drug’s better than your drug.” They are all poor substitutes for the One we seek, who is Jesus Christ.

Seriously? O.k., let me break it down for you. The average IQ of a person who holds a PhD is 130. This is the top 2-3% of the population. To be a professor at college, you must hold a PhD, ergo, college professors generally have an IQ in the 130 range. I have taught at college and I can tell you without a doubt that the vast majority of teachers I came into contact with used marijuana on a fairly regular basis. Anyone who has taught at and most who have been students at colleges and universities know that marijuana use among the faculty is very prevalent (I have seen informal surveys that put the number around 33%, but I know of no formal studies at this point). In Canada, there are rooms specifically designated for professors who use medicinal mj to smoke on campus between classes. Yes, they are allowed to teach while under the influence.

According to the USDE’s higher education center, 30-35% of college students use marijuana at least once per year and more than 10% of the population in general reported using marijuana in the past year. 20-27% of college athletes have used marijuana in the last year. We aren’t talking about homeless indigents here, people, but normal people who have jobs and go to school and play sports. Of course, as in any group of people, some of these individuals will turn out to be losers, but correlation does not equal causation!

Also, re: breaking the law, I regard marijuana use the same way I regard rolling through a stop sign…actually, it’s less serious. Someone could be hurt if I don’t stop at a stop sign 😛
Many failures of logic in this post. You are extrapolating from your own thesis and as a genius, you must know how dangerous this is. “The vast majority of teachers I came into contact with?” Maybe you came into contact with the pot smokers because…oh, I don’t know…You SMOKE POT???

😃

If these geniuses are indeed stoned while they teach classes, they should be fired. Only I suppose PhD’s are in another category because they have IQs higher than 130? I think I’d rather hire the bum on the corner than pay for a stoned “genius” to teach my kid.

So Canada has pot smoking rooms for their teachers? Whoopie for them! Maybe they can lead the world into the next Great Era of Enlightenment. “Medicinal” marijuana is just a stealth way to get the dope into mainstream usage so it can be made legal. The nose of the camel, so to speak.

Really proud of my 17 year son - he got a phone number of a girl while he was at work the other day. When he called her, she was stoned out of her mind. He told me, “That’s the end of that.” Even a 17 year old hormonal boy can see how pot warps your mind. I guess he’s not a genius though.

I think that’s great! Kids have no business using any drugs - marijuana, alcohol, or tobacco.

So are you telling me it is better for people to get hooked on prescription drugs, which do have serious negative side effect? Is it not better for someone who suffers from chronic pain to have an alternative to the addictive narcotics that are given by physicians? Are you saying drugs like morphine, demerol, sectinol, And a host of others do NOT lead to addiction and negative side effects? What is better? A natural substance that has no addictive ingredients, or narcotics that can adversly affect quality of life? I am entitled to my opinion. For some people this should be made available. Gloucoma patients are one such group. Cancer patients are another. Do you dispute this?

“Child like Trolls” Ok. You have no rational argument, so you have to resort to Childish name calling. Gotcha! I agree, this discussion is over. Have a nice day. 🙂

Totally untrue. Weed can make you paranoid about all sorts of things and not just getting busted by the cops.
It depends on the strength of the weed and how much you smoke. I have a doctor’s recommendation and have founds some strains to be “one or two hitters” (Romulan, for example) because if you smoke/vape more than that, you’re experience won’t be pleasant at all. I’ve been sitting there thinking I’m having a heart attack because I took three or four hits of the more powerful stuff. As a result, I try to avoid that kind of weed and stick to the “mids” (Mr. Nice, for example). I’ve actually found hash has a faster effect, giving one the opportunity to stop before they take too much. 🙂

let’s put it all together…

You delusional child like trolling hypocrite. 😉

Okay I’m coming back to refrute this because people who are wrong irriate the hell out of me.

Right, for your knowledge I work in healthcare in a professional capacity. I can assure you that painkillers such as morphine etc are only addictive if you take them when you are NOT in pain. If you take them when you are in pain, they act as an analgesic and you cannot become addicted to them. If

Anyone with a small iota of knowledge can tell you this.

I am sure Rush Limbaugh, and others would agree with the above statement. :rolleyes:come to think of it, I think a patient of mine who I took care of when I was working in the medical field would too. That is, if they had not tried an experimental phsychotrophic on him and he was still alive…😦

Oh yes. And do not dare to disagree. It irritates the…the…the…Ok I refuse to cuss on this forum. but yall get the gist. And no one here irritates the…the… the… Yeah. outa me. I like yall too much. even you LemonAndLime. Trust me, My daily existence is more dangerous to me than you could ever be. Or weed for that matter…😉 this is my last post on this thread. I have enjoyed it. I think the pro legalization crowd has won in the court of public opinion. but who really knows. You folks have fun. Ta ta. And LemonandLime. I shall be flying through your country in a few weeks. I shall make sure to wave. 🙂 Peace 👍

Wrong. Drunkenness is a serious sin. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that drunkenness is a mortal sin. Alcohol use with moderation does not produce drunkenness. I myself weigh 220 and I can drink a glass of wine or several beers and not feel anything whatsoever in the way of inebriation. In that sense the matter is somewhat subjective. I myself do not drink anything at all ever because I have alcoholics in my family and do not wish to scandalize anyone or set a bad example for the young. Marijuana use, however, produces the high immediately with little difference in intensity of inebriation during the duration of the use of the drug.

I also was a very heavy marijuana user as a teenager(the very last time I used it was 1979) and I know first hand what marijuana does to you, and there is absolutely no comparison with alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant and marijuana is a narcotic. Because both affect the brain differently, there really isn’t much of a way to compare one to the other. Alcohol slowed things down considerably but I was always very well aware of the difference between right and wrong. Marijuana, however, tended to blur the distinction between right and wrong and whatever lapses in judgement I rendered were the result of a deadening of my conscience while under the influence. Both are dangerous but if I had to make a distinction I’d say marijuana was more dangerous.
When I returned to the Church at age 18 I went to confession. Marijuana use was one of the sins that I confessed as mortal. Marijuana use, as well as the use of any other drug, severs your relationship with God. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Don't think for a minute that you can put anything you like into the temple without God having something to say about it.
