I was wondering if someone could help me.

I heard that, under Canon Law, for a religious house, such as a convent or monastery, to house, such as to give them refuge, someone not of the Catholic faith they need express consent of the Pope. Is this true and where in Canon Law can I find this?

I know a monastery in LA, after Hurricane Katrina, housed a lot of refugees while the nuns literally slept in cupboards.

never heard of any such law

working with two sisters now who after Rita literally lost their convent in NE Tex as it was turned over to house elderly refugees, most of whom are still living there.
