I really cant decide between OFM and OFM. cap.

what i want to do after i become a priest is to help those with depression. stress… and mental illness

some friend told me why not join a fransiscan order
i was like… ok let me do some research about it… then…
i heard about padre Pio story and want to join a Capuchin order
now iam in a dilema… i still love the original OFM tho

what do u think is the best order for me?

No one can tell you which one is better for you. Have you spoken with your spiritual director? Have you spoken with vocation directors for both orders? Have you visited both orders to get a feel for their way of life? Hopefully as you start to do some of these things one branch or the other will start to stand out as a better fit for you.

Sounds like you’re still discerning, and may have itching ears a bit.

Pray about things and don’t rush it.

For that you need to pray a lot ,Hope you need to give more importance to save souls than the body ,OFM cap is more austere than the OFM i guess.take your time ask Mother Mary to intercede for you for the will of God LK 1:38

thank you all . but i cant ask for my spiritual director guidance because my seminarian only focusing on the order of sacred heart and a diocese priest… i already ask him once about joining fransican order… he said it may be abit hard for us to let u join another order because we doesnt have enough diocese priest now… because of that

i may have to leave this seminarian and find one that will allow me to join a fransiscan order

Perhaps prayer would be helpful especially to St. Joseph of Cupertino, a Friars Minor Conventual, the patron saint of air travelers, aviators, astronauts, people with mental illnesses, test takers, and poor students. He was given mystical revelations and was known to levitate in prayer.

Get a medical checkup first. There may indeed be a chemical imbalance that is depressing you.
  1. Medical checkup and medicines? A few hundred dollars.
  2. Speaking with a Priest? A few minutes of your time.
  3. Spending time before Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament? Priceless.
Start with #3.

If you join an order you will have novitiate befor seminary. You need to hang out with both communities a while and see what makes more sense to you.
