Can't talk about Jesus at all in my house without a fight

Hi,

I have discovered that it is impossible to talk about Jesus in my house without a fight. All my mom does is argue with Church teaching and give me a hard time about my focus on Christ and His Church in my life, and tries to tell me the Church isn’t that important and everything else is. They don’t care about Christ, and I think they are jealous and angry, because I have been going out, making friends in the Church and at school, and that I might be able to get along fine eventually without their help, while they refuse to go to Church, associate with Catholic priests or laypeople, and are miserable and angry all the time.

Please pray for them. Ask the Holy Family to invite them to return to the Church. They need to come back home, but they won’t listen to me. They won’t go anywhere I invite them. Pray that other people start inviting them to Mass and Confession, and Church services, and adoration. Pray that their friends and family ask them to pray with them. Pray that other people besides myself start inviting them to go to Church, and stop seeking secular godless solutions to all of their miseries and anguishes.

My suggestion: Let your actions speak louder than your words. Follow the advice of St. Francis of Assisi - preach the Gospel always; if necessary use words. Let your parents see the difference the light of Christ makes in YOUR life, and they may want it in theirs. It takes time to win them through witness, but it is much more peaceful and effective. Learn your faith well. Be a faithful Catholic. Be prepared to answer questions when asked. And leave the rest to God.

What Religion is your parents?
 
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, please intercede for Joshua’s parents and for the people I know who are not going to Mass and confession. May they come to see the necessity of receiving the sacraments and of obeying all of the Lord’s commandments. May they become inspired to practice their faith and know that they are doing the right thing being docile to the Holy Spirit and obeying God’s laws. May holy people influence them to go to confession and help them to hate their sins. May holy people help them to take Catholicism, the Sacraments and their salvation seriously. Amen.
