Okay, so I have OCD, which maybe some of you have read in my other threads. But I’m attempting to play this game I got and now I’m thinking I should restart the game because I stayed up into the early next day playing, and I knew I had to be somewhere by 9. Anyway, I woke up at 9:10 or something if not that, so I was late because I slept late.

Now Im thinking that maybe I should restart the game because I was late and it may be wrong to keep playing.

But i think I also attempted to play the game late because my girlfriend wanted me to try because she wants me to do things I enjoy, now idk if she was upset/mad at me for wanting to play because I do call her sometimes to clear some stuff in my mind I think. She would get upset I think because I may have called her for that purpose. Maybe the last time I called her wasnt fully for that purpose, idk. But, she asked if that’s why I called and I didn’t say much really I don’t think and she didn’t want to talk afterwards or something and said to play my game.

Did I do something wrong for not texting/calling her back later, my brother wanted me to bring him and his friend to his friends house when I was on the phone, and then playing my game?

This was late at night this

Do I have to restart the game for it to not be wrong?

Also, is it wrong to play the game right now while waiting for answers? Like, I’ve had answers before that do relate to this I think, people have told me that they don’t think returning the game is an apology to God or something, however I could go to confession.

OCD has been making me very cautious about lying and ibfeel like in uncertain about a bit of stuff I say I think.

Hi again JakeSim!

You do not need to restart the game. Remember, it’s not the progress of the game that is in question, it’s merely playing the game over talking to your g/f or giving your brother a ride.

There could possibly be a venial sin in playing the game to the point of neglecting your g/f or little brother, but that is next to impossible for me or anyone on this forum to judge.

I would recommend you get a regular confessor. Call your local church and explain that you suffer from OCD and think you might benefit from a regular confessor. They will be able to provide you better direction on matters such as these.

All the best!

Well I wasn’t playing the game when my brother asked me. I was on the phone with my girlfriend. I got off the phone with my girlfriend, she was upset when we got off i think and gave my brother the ride. I didn’t call or text my gf when I got home however.

I think im thinking that maybe I should restart it because I started the game the time that these things occured and I’m thinking that things should feel right for me to play.

As for the game, it’s on the Nintendo 3ds, it’s Pokemon White.

Don’t restart the game, that’s is the OCD telling you to do that. Ignore it it is not your friend.

If you have somehow upset someone apologize to them for upsetting them, if your not sure if you upset them or not then ask them if you did and then apologize if they say yes.

Do not restart the game

I agree.

Restarting the game would be giving in to your OCD tendencies. What you need to do is learn to discern without allowing your OCD to interfere. Unfortunately, I’m no expert in the spiritual life which is why I strongly recommend you get a spiritual director if you don’t have one, or at least a regular confessor.
