Our archdiocese is starting a capital campaign for the entire archdiocese that will include a significant monetary commitment from our parishioners. The way the program works is that we are to raise the amount equivalent to one year’s envelope collections over a three year period. 40% of the money will be used for an endowment to be set up to help support Catholic education and faith formation. The remaining 60% will be used for our own parish’s capital needs.

On November 6th, a commitee of six individuals (our two parish priests, our parish administrator, and three parish council members) will meet to recommend to the parish council what we are planning to use the money for.

This will be a sigificant undertaking for our parish and will require our entire parish involvement. This hopefully will help build up our community and lead to more people coming back to Mass.

I ask that you pray that our committee will make the right decision that is in the best interest of our Parish but most importantly, what God wants us to pursue in the use of His resources.

P.S. I am a member of the parish council and am on the committee that will be discerning the capital campaign money use.
 
Father, guide your humble servants so that they do your will. Give them the knowledge and strength to undertake this task. Bless all those who assist in spreading your word with faith formation. AMEN

What a brave undertaking…I will be keeping you and the parish in daily prayer. I hope all goes well and you have an overwhelming response…
 
Holy Spirit,

be with the good people of WI as they take on this endeavor. I would ask that the ideas and needs be brought to surface quickly and that no oversight is made. Lead them to a reasonable pace and continue to encourage them although progress may seem slow. Help them to do God’s will and work where it needs to be done the most. Large undertaking like these are of You. Be with this parish council and so many others throughout our country.

Blessed Mother pray for our country and bring us to reconciliation with Christ and greater knowledge of Him. Pray for these sons and daughters setting out to make a difference. Amen.
