interesting. did not know this. will have to do more research. the bbc has an excellent you tube series where the reporter lived with the family for a couple weeks. if you can, catch it. its kinda sad to watch, the young ladies especially have very good singing voices. and it is sad that this kind of talent has to stay in such a little group. they also made a great lady ga ga parody. man do they get angry! lol!I thought I read somewhere that their three generations are supported by only two families who have intermarried with each other.
They very well might. I had a similar experience three weeks ago volunteering at a Baptist organization. The guy asked me to sit in his office and commenced to try and convert me. When I disagreed with his interpretation of Holy Scripture he said; “what, you don’t believe the Bible”? I got up at that point and left. The other day on facebook, a girl invited me to attend a carwash at her church. She is Baptist, but she is friendly to Catholics (I met her on Kairos, a Catholic retreat). But I’m apprehensive about going to a Baptist church, since they are known for their vehement anti-Catholic sentiments. If they don’t know me and ask me where I go to church or what religion I am, are they going to start screaming fire and brimstone in my face? Or I am I just being paranoid?
yeah. you would think they would be more open minded with an orthodox. maybe try to find out more about what you believe. i am fascinated by the orthodox way of doing things. would never convert, but i always hope and pray there will be a reunion between our communions. love you guys. My advice: don’t go there, don’t think about going there, don’t even look at the building when you drive by.![]()
i wouldnt call them nuts. i would say its a sad result of a patriarchy that has run amok. just look at some of the videos on this group. weather on tyra banks, bbc documentaries, and such. i feel more pity and sadness for them than anything else. its kind of hard to be angry at people who have known nothing from their infancy but hate, and harsh dogmatic teaching. no love, no forgiveness, no hope. one of the girls said if she left the group, and died, she would go to hell, and her family would be justified in celebrating her damnation. what a sad way to live. PeaceWell the Westboro guys are nuts and it pisses most Baptists off that their aberrant swill they proffer as “Christ-like” actions are associated with Baptists. They are nuts. I won’t go on a tirade about it. Judging Baptists by Westboro would similar to judging Catholics by the Inquisition.
Typically Baptists are humans, just like yourself. Age considered, the difference being, that
their parents were Baptist as yours were likely Catholic.
Another poster suggested such car washes as bait. I used to fish quite a bit.
There were stupid fish that took the bait and the hook. There were smart fish that stole the bait.
I suppose I would determine what kind of fish you were first, before you go.
your right jack. by the way, this question has not come up. what was this young lady doing at a Catholic retreat? is she interested in Catholicism on an intellectual level, just trying to broaden her understanding? if you can speak to her, it would be interesting to know her thoughts. shes friendly with Catholics for a reason. Peace to you.ENOUGH ABOUT WESTBORO. The more we talk about them, the more power we give them. We need to forget about them and ignore them. They are false Christians, so they are not worth our time.
