Carbonated Water Mineral Water fast

Does carbonated water break the fast required before Holy Communion? I was wondering simply because it is water and C02. Does Mineral Water?
 
Good question. I always just drink plain unflavored tap or bottled water. I think additives break the fast unless they are necessary for medical reasons. Don’t get scrupulous though any tap water or unflavored bottled water is fine.

Carbonation, alone, is probably ok, as it has no nutritional value (or sugary taste).

Remember though, IAJAAS.

You bring CO2 into your body every time you breathe, so logically i don’t think it could break the fast no.
