RSiscoe, are you suggesting or do you believe that John Paul II was the Antichrist? Whatever you believe I don’t see the Cardinal as suggesting or believing that since His Eminence says: “The cardinal said the Antichrist espoused vegetarianism, pacifism, environmentalism and animal rights” and AFAIK John Paul II was not a vegeterian – correct me if I am wrong please.

Why has everyone drawn that conclusion? I never said I believed John Paul II was the antiChrist. What I do believe, however, is that the Cardinal is exactly right when he says that the anti-Christ will us (or is using) the ecumenical movement to undermine the faith.

Would the Cardinal say John Paul II was deceived? That is another question. You’ll have to ask the Cardinal about that.

Cute image! The forum has the ability to allow you to put someone on your ‘ignore’ list. Click on a poster’s name (right above their reply), select ‘view public profile’ and on that screen, on the right, you will see an option to add them to your ignore list.

This feature has helped me in the past… 😛

The devil will use anything he can to try to undermine the Church including twisting good to make it appear bad and creating dissent:mad:

As a side topic, could someone please explain what the Pope John Paul II meant when he warned the cardinals against the anti-christ?

By the way, what Cardinal Kasper says does sound like a heresy and I have the feeling that if I were the Pope, he would be in a very serious trouble, but would John Paul II appoint to episcopacy and cardinalate someone whom he didn’t believe to be worthy?

I know you didn’t say you believed it but I was wondering if you believed it without saying that you did. I am pretty sure John Paul II was not a vegeterian:

YOU HAVE NO PROOF THAT HE WAS NOT A VEGETERIAN. THIS IS MERELY HERESAY!!!

Just kidding. No, I do not think John Paul II was the anti-Christ. Nor do I believe that Cardinal Biffi was saying John Paul II was the anti-Christ. He was just saying that the anti-Christ would use ecumenism to destroy the Catholic faith. I completely agree.

Please read the following encyclical and let me know what you think.
