Please pray for Cardinal Delly’s safety.

MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - Gunmen kidnapped the Chaldean Catholic archbishop of Mosul on Friday in the northern Iraqi city and killed his driver and two companions, police said.

“He was kidnapped in the al-Nour district in eastern Mosul when he left a church. Gunmen opened fire on the car, killed the other three and kidnapped the archbishop,” said provincial police spokesman Brigadier-General Khaled Abdul Sattar.

I also lift up all Your children in Iraq who are undergoing persecution. May it strengthen their faith and their witness. May You, Father, be their Sustainer in these trials and take away their fear.

I ask this through Our Lod Jesus Christ, thy Son, who is God, living and reigning with Thee, in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, for ever and ever.

Anyone have any news on the Bishop? Does anyone remember in the last few years there was a catholic priest or Bishop that was kidnapped in Iraq. His captors wound up respecting that he was a godly man & released him. I’m probably mixing everything up… Does anyone else remember this?
