Just heard this bit of news this morning, hopefully nothing major. I would anticipate more news on this later today.
Archdiocesan Chancellor Jimmy Lago announced this afternoon that Cardinal Francis E. George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, went to Loyola University Medical Center this afternoon for tests relating to some continuing dizziness he experienced prior to his recent trip to New Zealand and Rome. As a precautionary measure, he is expected to stay overnight so that his doctor may complete these tests.

Prayers for Card. George! Although, these days all he’ll probably need is blood pressure meds or something like that. Still, may God grant him good health and a long life!

With all the international traveling he has done in the past few weeks, I can’t imagine his immune system is taking a great toll. Perhaps, he picked up a bug. Thankfully, at this writing he is already home and hopefully well on to the way to full recovery. Just the stress he is under since the church in Chicago is reeling from another priest abuse allegation is mind boggling. I think we as Catholics need to do something for our priests that we probably do not do enough of it…Pray for them! Pray, pray and pray some more. Those who are closest to the Eucharist, must be under constant attack by the devil. If the devil was foolish enough to tempt Jesus in the desert…don’t you think he celebrates when he successfully seduces the chosen ones who serve God.

Keep praying!

WOW - was I surprised when I saw this.

Surprised because he was the guest speaker at our Pallium Lecture Series here in Milwaukee last night.

He’s an awesome man.
