Cardinal Müller Suggests Pope Francis Appoint Group of Cardinals to Debate His Critics

I like the idea, but it will never happen. I don’t think Pope Francis would risk his Cardinals getting “shown up” by the other side, which quite frankly, would be likely to happen given that most of the arguments in favor of the controversial passages of AL have devolved into name calling (pharisees, legalists, etc.) and are directly opposed to the teachings of St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.
 
it seems like it would be a chance that the pope would not be willing to take. But if he wants to make AL the centerpiece of his papacy then it seems to me he has to do something official - such as having the cardinals vote on it. I know some think that his agenda is to dismantle the church and rebuild it. So sad - especially for those who will be lost over all this if it goes much further.
