Does anyone have information on this, found today on the web?

"A Professor of Law at the Catholic University of America, has confirmed other reports that Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, of Washington, D.C., publicly converted to Islam on September 13, 2005. On that date, McCarrick publicly invoked not Our Lord Jesus Christ, but the false god of the Mohammedans, “Allah, the compassionate and merciful Lord of all the world,” to bless Mohammedan King Abdullah II, of Jordan. To confirm his apostasy, McCarrick later concluded his address with a public prayer “in the name of Allah, the merciful and compassionate God.”

I think this is a bogus report, I can’t find anything about this on the net.

What is the source of this report?

EDIT: Never mind; just found it at traditio.com, a schismatic site.

Well, don´t be exagerated, I can say that and He is not converting to islam, although, it would be the islamic formula for conversion, isn´t real.

Well if he hasnt converted to Islam and if he said what is reported he said he certainly has committed a grave sin of apostacy. And that includes the rejection of the Christian faith pure and simple. Now there is a lot of “ifs” here and we are still not certain of what the good cardinal has said. But if he said what was reported then anathema to him and his apostacy be with him on his future journey to the unkown.

why was i banned from the apologetic thread about this topic!! ??

Meedo, I can’t access it either…it means that it was either deleted or blocked by everybody…

I read the words he wrote/spoke, and there is no apostacy…I don’t know why people are being so sensitive. He never denied any truth that is from God…He chose to say the arabic word of God, which is Allah, and God is merciful and compassionate…it isn’t like a magic phrase “abra cadabra”

Peace,
luigi

oh good i thought i said somthing that offended anybody . I really didnt say somthing bad at all , i just responded to some oen who accused us of worshipping a moon God.

Well i dont think he is a muslim either. The guy was just bieng nice.

Peace

Traditio is a radically traditional site, so their spin can’t be trusted. The Cardinal’s address was a little creepy, but…“Allah” is the Arabic word for “God,” which you would hear in a Maronite Catholic Mass (I think it’s Maronite, but it might be Melkite). Further, in order to convert to Islam you have to confess and say out loud the following: “There is no god, but Allah, and Mohammed is the Prophet of God,” which only goes to show how ignorant Traditio is and how willing they are to rush to condemn anything in the post-conciliar Church, so willing that they don’t even bother doing research!
