Cardinal George Pell prepares for hearing of appeal of conviction of child sexual abuse
Pell's appeal is set to be heard by a three-judge panel of the state of Victoria’s Supreme Court on 5-6 June.

Defense lawyers acting for Cardinal Pell have appealed the decision on three separate grounds. According to this article, it is possible his conviction will be overturned.
Following his conviction in Australia, Cardinal Pell was sentenced in March to six years in prison, of which he must serve at least three years and eight months. Pell has remained in prison since that time.
