Sarah’s work is beautiful. I hope he will be the next Pope.

One thing I wish the OF mass had that the EF does is more periods of silence.
 
Definitely. It’s possible to do, and the rubrics encourage it, but very few OF priests do it.
 
I have never been at an OF mass where there were not periods of silence.
Silence is so important to our spiritual lives.
 
There may be a few seconds. But not several minutes worth in my experience.
 
Read the Cardinal’s book “The Power of Silence”. It is amazing.

Very few Cardinals offer the kind of serene wisdom that this particular one does. The only other one I’d say is in this kind of league is Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI himself. Of the current Curia members, only this man edifies me with his writings.

I would rejoice to see Cardinal Sarah take the Chair one day.
 
Maybe you’re correct. But there is significantly more silence in the EF.
 
I did not mean to get into comparisons of the two forms of the mass. Both are of course equally valid.
