Cardinal Donald W. Wuerl of Washington, D.C. told a group of Catholic educators on Sunday that they have a special call to introduce their students to Jesus and show them how the faith is relevant to their lives.
Thank the good Lord for Cardinal Wuerl! Catholic Schools in this country NEED TO HEAR THIS MESSAGE! They are not even comparable to public education, however, they along with the rest of the Church in America have become terribly lack luster in delivering the entirety of our faith. Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament…non existent…Mass offered maybe once a week and in some cases as with my grandchildren, Mass every other week. Religion taught not every day, but only once a week. Other than us at home teaching them (as I realize parents and family are the primary educators of children) they would have no idea what the Rosary even is let alone how to pray it.
They are far better than public education, but as far as helping to impart the faith.:nope: They lack miserably.
