I would say if I had a say so to protect the sacrament of marriage by saying no to communion for the divorcees.

Your feelings aren’t that unusual. It seems prior to the 60’s, even separated couples would abstain from communion. The overemphasis of frequent communion (allowing more than once per day, relaxing fast, rationalizing birth control, everyone goes, etc.) has perhaps led to the undermining of the sacrament of Matrimony altogether.
