Remember the guy who donned a topcoat and hat a la Jose Rizal and held a placard that said “Damaso” during a Manila Cathedral mass?
More than two years after his protest against an allegedly meddlesome Catholic church, a criminal court found popular activist Carlos Celdran guilty of “offending religious feelings.”
The Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 4 sentenced Celdran to suffer imprisonment for an indeterminate period of two months and 21 days as minimum to one year, one month and 11 days.

Some are decrying this conviction. Well. duh. He violated a law.

Hurray for the Phillipine courts!!! I wish such laws were Constitutional in the USA.

I hope that you will learn your lesson, Mr. Celdran. Don’t messed up with the Catholic Church. Lol.

Even the Church has its rights
He disrupted a Mass being held at the Manila Cathedral, all because he disagreed with the church’s stand on the Reproductive
Health Bill. For this, the Metropolitan Manila Trial Court found Celdran guilty of offending religious feelings.
It is unfortunate that some sectors have come to the defense of Celdran for the wrong reasons. Some have lambasted the Church for filing a case against the tour guide in the first place, conveniently forgetting that what Celdran committed was not only in extreme poor taste, but more importantly in clear defiance of an existing law.

The Filipino anti-Catholics are up in arms about this case and are whining about it on FaceBook seeing as they’d lose if they whine in person.
