thankyou
I believe that DaugherofMary6 (formerly known as CarmeliteGirl25 and LilFranciscan25) discerned with them in the past so you could ask her and you could ask Sister Helena although I’m not 100% sure and positive this is the Carmelite order that she is in. (My sincere apologizes Sr. Helena if I’m misaken)

Better yet why don’t you contact Sr. Maria Giuseppe, Provincial Superior

God bless you on your journey,

No, I do not belong to this Congregation. Mine is the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. www.carmelitesisters.com

I visited your mother house while I was in the novitiate (05/07 - 05/08) for the Rosary Walk.

It was a very nice day with a great group of sisters.
You’re welcome to visit us again Brother David.

Yes, I did discern with them, but I don’t feel comfortable answering questions about them at this time since I am no longer discerning. Please direct questions to the congregation. Thank you and God bless.

Carmel_love- Sometimes the best way to get your answers is by contacting the community itself.

Thank You for sharing and letting me know. I will pray about it first as im alittle nervous.

carmelite_love- Sometimes we all have to take that first step or leap because if you don’t you’ll never know and I will be praying for you also.

Prayer of Discernment

O Lord, I do not know what to ask you. You alone know my real needs, and you love me more than I even know how to love. Enable me to discern my true needs which are hidden from me. I ask for neither Cross nor consolation.; I wait in patience for you. My heart is open to you. For your great mercy’s sake, come to me and help me. Put your mark on me and heal me, cast me down and raise me up. Silently, I adore your holy will and your inscrutable ways. I offer myself in sacrifice to you and put all my trust in you. I desire only to do your will. Teach me how to pray and pray in me, yourself. Amen.

I went to your Motherhouse in Germantown, NY 'way back in August 1991 for the Rosary Day. Had a wonderful time-I remembered the Benedictine Abbot who preached at the Mass [in the little gymnasium, no less! 🙂 ]. He was pretty cool! I also met some Carmelite friars from Middletown, NY that day. I found out about the event a few weeks before when I went on a bus trip to the Carmelite Shrine in Middletown-there was a brochure in the vestibule of the chapel.

One of your nursing homes is in my hometown-it was founded in the late 1970s, I think. I have also read the biography of your Foundress, Mother Angeline Teresa. Isn’t she a ‘Servant of God’ now? I even remember when she died in 1984!

Hope I didn’t derail this thread…if I did, I apologize! 😊 :o

Wonderful! Small world as they say! We still have the Rosary Rally every October instead of August now. Yes, Mother Angeline is now a Servant of God but we still are in the initial stages and needs more prayers. I am currently stationed at the Motherhouse since April 10th.

Well, I didn’t exactly ‘travel with the Carmelites’ on that long-ago day…I drove down to Germantown by myself [got a little lost along the way] and went back home the same day.

Yep, that’s the book I’ve read on Mother Angeline Teresa. In another book-forgot the title right offhand-when Brigid McCreary [that was her ‘secular’ name] was leaving her home in Scotland to enter the Little Sisters of the Poor in France, her parish priest let her into his library and let her take any book she wanted as a parting gift from him. She chose the ‘Life’ of St. Teresa of Avila. Then one of her brothers gave her a box of chocolates to eat along the way to London. She did, and she got SICK! Well, it was either that, or let the chocolates melt! I get a chuckle out of that story. 😃

Yes, it is a small world! 😉

I’m glad that you have the Rosary Day in October instead of August-doesn’t do too well for the old folks to be out in the sun. I remember there was a big tent for the wheelchair-bound to sit under back in 1991. I also remember stopping into the chapel at the Motherhouse to get out of the heat-and it was air conditioned!

It’s a beautiful spot you’re living in, Sister! 👍

Hi DaughterOfMary-are you still thinking of religious life? I remember once you were thinking of the Visitandines.

If you think I’m prying, you don’t have to respond…I understand…:o

We’ll see. Nothing is set in stone. I’m taking time out from discernment right now. 🙂

carmel_love- Have you contacted the community yet?
