Carter has been waiting over 4 months for a heart, he’ll be 6 Monday. It is in transit now to him.

Father please prepare all the staff that will be working on, around and with Carter for his surgery. Prepare them for the arrival of his heart and provided them with a clear vision of all that is transpire for this little boy. I ask for a hedge of protection to surround Carter, for him to lifted up in the light that comes from Jesus our Christ! May the family be protected and held very close during this long procedure. I ask for this to strengthen his lungs, to preform the miraculous that his little body needs to heal. For the family that has lost the precious soul that is giving life to Carter, eternal rest grant them, may your perpetual light shine on them and may they rest in peace. I ask for a special bond of love and light to surround that family to infuse them with the peace that can come only from you, in the knowledge that tonight they made the gift of life be extended to another of your precious children. Hold them, comfort them, surround them with the loving light that comes from the grateful hearts of Carter’s family as it is being extended to them in this time of loss. As in all things Abba, thy will be done.

St. Raphael pray for Carter and send angels to surround, protect and stand with this tiny boy as he and the doctors are fighting for his life. May every hand that touches him have your healing peace, every voice his brain hears be loving graces from you. Strengthen the Doctors, Nurses, everyone in and around this procedure so that they may preform to the best of their abilities. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen :highprayer::signofcross:

This is personal to me. My dad was waiting for a heart but none came and he did not make it. That is why I am a donor. I know what you are going through.

Father, Carter has a new chance at life. He is only 6 years old. Father I thank you for the donor. Be with the staff that is going to preform the surgery. Give them the knowledge that only you can give. Be with Carter as he undergoes this life saving surgery. Be with him during this time. Give his body the strenght to undergo such a surgery. I ask that everything goes as you plan. That everything goes without any problems. Father I thank you for giving Carter the chance that my father never had. I ask that you be with the parents of Carter during this time of stress, worry, and joy. Give them the strength to go through all that is ahead of them in the days, weeks, and months to come. Father, I ask that you bless the person, the family of the donor because without them this would not be possible. Be with you child now, comfort him during and after the surgery. In your name I pray.

Lord God, we ask You and Your Most Holy Son, Jesus Christ, to give the following:

For Carter and his family, the grace to have complete trust in You, God, and the strength to get through this. Let them know that the Church is there for them, to offer love and support.

For the doctors, nurses, and all other medical personnel, the clarity of mind and the steadiness needed for the operation.

For the donor, out of thanks for his/her act of great charity, I ask You, Lord, to grant him/her relief from Purgatory, and entrance into Your Kingdom.

For the family of the donor, relief from the sorrow and grief they suffer for the death of their loved one, and for the grace to find joy in the great charitable act their loved one did by being a donor.

Lord, we ask You these things not out of a wish that You will heed our will, but that we may heed Yours.

In Your Name, we pray.

This is also personal to me. My sister died before she turned 3. It was only about 2 or 3 months before my birth that she died. If she had lived just 6 months longer, she would have been able to get an experimental heart transplant. They weren’t approved for children her age until about 6 months after she died. So, I will definitely pray for Carter!

Praying hard for Carter, his family and the donor’s family. I pray this boy will live long and strong with his new heart.

Some day it will be me waiting for such a precious gift. I pray that a family that is the midst of their grief will have the courage to share something so precious as their loved one’s heart like Carter’s heroic donor family has.
