An Afghan man who has been charged with converting from Islam to Christianity is to be freed while his case is reviewed.
Earlier today, a judge in Kabul dismissed the prosecution because of doubts over his mental state.
Officials say the man, Abdul Rahman, will be released from custody soon.

This is great news indeed, though it does say “While his case is reviewed”. Let’s just hope and pray that his release will be permenant.

What’s encouraging about this is that it was accomplished by public pressure and political means – something that many thought would be impossible.

Don’t be surprised if he is released and is then killed by a group of Muslim zealots apparently unconnected to the government. Such an event lets everyone but the poor convert “off the hook.”
