I’m in a schola, and the choir dress is cassock and surplice. The surplice is cathedral length, so only the collar and the lower 12 inches show. Having said that, we all carry ours on a hanger and, when travelling, use hanging bags.

A rule of thumb could be, “If they have to be ironed, hang them. If they are permanent press, your preference.”

I thought Cassocks were Soviets who lived by the River Don and were fierce horsemen that would not want to be folded or stapled:) 🙂

Depending on the fabric, hanging this garment may well be the preferred method.

But I’m sure there are some cassocks which are amenable to folding
The cassocks that the orthodox use are usually transported on a hanger. However, I have been shown how to properly fold a cassock, and when done correctly, it actually will not wrigle one iota, and is the preferred method by some clergy.

wouldn’t it depend on the material the cassock was made from? Some are less prone to wrinkles. Polywool comes to mind.

I’ve seen all wool, and more "silky"material handled in the same way.
If they are folded in this particular way, it is very difficult to have any wrinkles in the cassock when it is put back on.
