Casting in new 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

[randomuser]

I had to fact-check this directly from the official web site, because I thought it was an April Fool’s joke when I saw this:

Brandon Boyd from Incubus as Judas Iscariot
JC Chasez From *NSYNC as Pontius Pilate
Michelle Williams From Destiny’s Child as Mary Magdalene
John (Rotten) Lydon From Public Image Ltd (PiL) & Sex Pistols as King Herod
Ben Forster as Jesus Christ

The arena tour kicks off June 9 in New Orleans:

Well, he’s 58 years old now, so not so much the angry young man!

Johnny Rotten? Couldn’t they find anyone better?

Oh, well, maybe it’ll be “Never Mind the Disciples, Here’s the Roman Army” or something like that. I like the original show though. “Heaven on their Minds” is a good song.

Michelle Williams is a wild idea for Mary Magdalene,
maybe it’ll fly?

[VanSensei]

As long as they hit the notes, because the whole show is one giant tenor diva-off (I love it, though) I’ll be fine.

Didn’t care for the movie or the music.
Won’t be buying tickets for the tour!
