I remember my old Protestant pastor saying he thought Fidel Castro might eventually go Christian, probably Catholic. Since he died himself in 1992, it will be interesting to see if he was right. He usually was, as I found with experience.
We’ll just have to wait and see I suppose. Sometimes these things take a long time to occur. For example he made one prediction which I thought was just plain silly at the time, viz. “I think you’ll be doing a cleaning job for a short time. You won’t like it much and you won’t be doing it for long, but I think the Lord will just want you to hear about a ghost”.
As I said, I thought it was ridiculous, but In 2006, I did a cleaning job for a short time, didn’t like it much, and heard about a ghost, a suicide dating back to the 1960’s, and for whom I eventually had a mass said. But it took the better part of 15 years for the prediction to even begin to start to come true. And to finish it off, I had to chance upon a priest on this very forum, who just happened to live in Ipswich, Queensland, where the “ghost” was located, whom I could then email to be certain a mass was said.
I wonder how many of us could sit behind a desk and tell someone, “I think you’ll be doing a cleaning job for a short time. You won’t like it much and you won’t be doing it for long, but I think the Lord will just want you to hear about a ghost”? And then have it come true? Not too many, I guess. But he did.
So I’m curious about what Fidel Castro will do in the closing stages of his life.
