I don’t know why he bothers, really. 😦
They’re just going to take another tidbit out of context, right? haha

Well, some people seem to express that very same sentiment with regards to the on-going dialogue between Catholic and Orthodox Churches. I can’t say I’ve lost hope for our Muslim brothers and sisters. 🙂

pardon me, but do you even know what an insult you just made?

OUR “Catholic and Orthodox Churches”?

Ask Father Ambrose how insulting that is.

I can only guess you have no clue that the Eastern Orthodox Churches rightly use the word “Catholic” and “Orthodox”
Just as we do!!!
Surprise!
😃

Do you hate Catholicism now, Pro?
Damascus, Ella,

Of course I don’t hate it. It’s a good religion that does lots of good for millions of people.

But it isn’t beyond critiques. The doctrine of infallibility is, in my opinion, turning out to be self serving…there’s no list of infallible teachings, and something which fits the general criteria of infallibility but that is unacceptable as a teaching by modern standards is uniformly written off as “not the infallible teaching of the Church.”

Because there is no certain way to identify an infallible teaching, and no complete lexicon of infallible statements, the doctrine lends itself to disowning any inconvenient periods in history as “not real Catholic teaching.”

no, but he too, as a Muslim, does not know what infallibility is about.Ask any Muslim, even clerics, they’ll tell you that infallibility means that everything said or done by the Pope must be correct.

My Dear Pro-Universal, I know you have a different world view than most Catholics here, but you do use reason and I ask you Pro,
Do you think it wise for mr. cat to make theological commentary at all, unless it be of course his own? Even then, it may be very questionable (if I were in Islam I would cringe at the thought!) He is not exactly the brightest lightbulb if you know what I mean. I’m sure hes a pleasant man, but maybe he should stay out of the spotlight on these issues.
I’m sure a more credible person in Islam would be better off addressing these matters no?

Huh?
