The Holy Father is on 20/20 now! And boy is it good!
I have already burst into tears!

Me too! I only caught it for about three minutes.

I still cry when I see an image of JPII.

I don’t know why though.

I watched the first half where he interacted with three different groups. It was wonderful. He is so warm and loving, it really comes through even on TV. I did DVR the whole thing and will watch the last part tonight.(I hate commercials so I pretty much DVR everything to skip through them.)

I would love to be in Philadelphia next month. I saving my pennies for a trip to Rome for fall of 2016. Hopefully I would get a chance to see him then.
 
I saw the entire interview-I recorded it so I could also watch the Planned Parenthood investigation. Both were on at the same time. The beginning of the program, when the interviewer was waiting outside and the Pope was just inside the door, gave me the chills. I couldn’t imagine going into that door and meeting the Pope!!! They then went into a room where the Pope had the opportunity to cyber meet select groups in the U.S. There were 3 groups: Hollywood, Port Allen, Texas, and Chicago. First…the Pope. He is so rarely seen on our news and his quotes are so often taken out of context, that I don’t feel like I know him as well as the previous Popes. He was amazing. His eyes are so kind and his demeanor was so humble and loving-very Christ-like indeed. He brought tears to my eyes. As for the format of the show…meh. I was very disappointed to see an hour with the Pope spent in such a way. 20/20 began the program by reminding of the “who am I to judge” quote by the Pope in reference to gay people-apropos of nothing. The show had then pre-selected 2 sniveling self-absorbed snowflakes at each location to speak to the Pope. These people began with “their story” which was clearly tailored to meet the agenda of the station-income inequality, illegal immigration dreamers, poverty. And each speaker was brimming with self-pity. One little girl, who was 11 and had lost her father at the age of 5, spoke of other families she had seen with fathers and big houses. What?? Her mother had finally gotten them out of a shelter and into an apartment and was doing her best. You get the picture. The Pope answered each with such compassion and love- and avoided any political agenda. The show was supposed to elicit remarks from the Pope to further the agenda- but instead he encouraged each person and blessed them. My husband and I also took away from the show an impressive admiration for the abundance of shelters and support for those people who have fallen through the cracks of society. In summary, the Pope was so holy, humble, compassionate and loving! I would love to have heard more from him and a lot less from the chosen speakers. They made it more of a reality show than a chance to know the Pope.
 
This special was so beautiful and amazing! America finally got to see how loving and compassionate Pope Francis is. The stories of these individuals were very touching and really bring you to tears. Definitely recommend everyone to watch it! 👍
