Depending on who you are, this could be the best or the worst of movies.

If you have not seen the trailer yet, here it is.

It will be coming out on November 22nd of this year. I am so excited!!!
It looks good! The first movie was good (not as excellent as the book, of course :p), so I will be looking forward to this as well.
Lots of killing, not for adolescents.
Wait, adolescents shouldn’t watch movies with killing in them?

I really don’t think that’s a realistic rule. Or a good one. 😦 It means we can’t watch Lord of the Rings or adaptations of Shakespeare plays.

In The Hunger Games, the “killing scenes” were filmed in such a way that they wouldn’t be shocking. Young children might not even know what’s going on.

The movie producers weren’t dumb. They knew that to make hundreds of millions of dollars they would have to avoid controversy.
Someday these films will be on tv over and over and over again. They’ll be cash cows forever.

Oops! Meant the Disney generation. My 10 year old niece had nightmares from watching The Bible war scenes. Pardon, please. Thank you for your feedback! God bless!

Ironically, the main artistic problem with the first movie is that it’s dramatically less harsh and violent and personal than the novel, and so much less affecting. Probably because it was basically forced to target a PG-13 rating.

Oh! OK, I agree that it isn’t for 10 year olds! It’s mostly aimed at teens. 😃
