Catechism and rule "by people"

I have been reading parts of the catechism concerning government and it shoud be ran reasonably and not in conflict with natural law. The thing is here in the US we are supposed to have rule by people. A representative republic. Well the things is, well people aren’t reasonable. They do terribly rash things. Well I guess that’s what the messiah’s working on. So what do we expect?
 
What can we expect we should do, or what can we expect to see in the USA’s near future? Well as to the how we should act to the government i dont know…but im gonna follow this thread because i wanna know. As for the second question I assume we are headed for some sort of collapse, which a new leader will rise out of, who will be able to control a desperate population and get away with dictatorship. OR the church just might be driven underground by this secularized anti christian society. 🤷

To me it seems like the world goes from order to chaos. Over time the human race becomes more secular. It is just the way of things on this sinful world. This all has to happen for the end of the world to happen as the Bible says. God wants as many souls in heaven as possible. It’s our job to save ourselves and everyone around us as best we can. Good work from us can slow down the progression of evil in the world, but we cannot stop it. It will eventually consume the world, and then Jesus will come again for the final judgment.
 
I’m sorry I was not quite clear. When I said “What should we expect?” What I was thinking was what should we expect in the future for humanity. As far as the Messiah; or as the Essenes said the “Messiahs” and mentioned Jesus and several more to come. The Messiah’s work on our inner being. Maybe things get worse before they get better. Any and all comments welcome.

The USA relies on the people governing themselves. Unfortunately they’ve proven to be not up to the task. Fortunately the government in place does a wonderful job, overall. Imo

The Essenes could be right. There are many people who believe that the Second Messiah is in the White House right now.
 
The question of how a secular institution like government ought to be run is often different between what is morally right. There is a very large difference between the positive law and the natural law in many cases, and for good reason. For instance, should people be going to jail because they dishonor their father and mother? Or because they use our Lord’s name in vain?

Surely not. We don’t think that the state (for a variety of reasons) is capable as an institution of enforcing some aspects of the natural law.

This isn’t an “either / or” situation, where you EITHER support natural law becoming all of the positive law, OR you support no natural law ever becoming part of the positive law. It is a continuum: some aspects of natural law (e.g., do not kill) can be part of the positive law, while other aspects of natural law might validly be outside the positive law’s reach.

…not in conflict with natural law, but more importantly God’s moral laws. The Catholic Church is not only the church of individuals, but the church of nations, and Jesus gave the Church the sole authority over nations. When individuals, by God’s grace form collectives or nations, they don’t escape responsibility.

Nations in the past have ignored God’s messengers to their dismay. It could still happen if we don’t stop our immoral ways.
