I read in the catechism I believe something along the lines of if someone lies, they are required to confess the truth. Does this mean that if they lie and then go to confession, they aren’t forgiven?

2508 Lying consists in saying what is false with the intention of deceiving one’s neighbor.

2509 An offense committed against the truth requires reparation.

Maybe what you read is in 2509? I take is as if you are guilty of bearing false testament against someone, or deceiving them, to atone for it you should not only confess this to God, but also make an attempt to repair the damage your untruth might have caused (reparation). What do you think?

Are you scrupulous by any chance? Please speak to a priest about this.

Well then in that case I’d it alright if I don’t tell her until i can speak w/ my priest. Or if I die befor then am I not looking too good?

Brah, try not to stress too much over this. I would not think too much of this as being grave matter. Just run it by your priest as he is way more qualified than I will ever be. God be with you.

But til then I’m good? I want to make sure I know because I don’t want to tell my crush unless i have too that I lied (and that could ruin some friendships).

You’ve said in a previous post that you struggle with scruples, so you really need to take this to a Priest.

And I am planning to this saturday, but in the meantime, may I hold off on correcting mistakes?

The forgiveness of your sins is not contingent on making reparation. You are forgiven from the moment the priest says the words of absolution during Confession.
