After holding a home-school VBS for 4 of my grandchildren last summer, I decided to become a catechist. To get my feet wet, I volunteered as an assistant and was assigned to the Kindergarten class. Wow. The Holy Spirit truly guided my path and blessed me with this experience. We have a new DRE who is wonderful, and a great team of catechists. I hope to be assigned to Kinderagarten again next year, but I am open to assisting with other grade levels if that is where I am needed.
I need to get started with my catechist formation. The Archdiocese has a program called “Equip for Ministry”, and courses are offered at various parishes. I missed the spring course registration, but there may be more courses offered this summer.
