Quick question- may a Protestant who is going to begin RCIA go to confession? ( I know she may not receive the Eucharist until after receiving Sacraments of Initiation.)

What denomination Protestant? A catechumen by definition is a non-baptized person. Non-baptized wouldn’t go to confession since they can’t receive the sacraments until they are baptized and Baptism would wash away any sin.Quick question- may a Protestant who is going to begin RCIA go to confession? A baptized Protestant could go to confession and explain to the priest that he is preparing to come into full communion but would like to confess now. Follow what the priest says.

Oh. I thought it meant anyone in RCIA. Well yes, she has been baptized, I had asked her if she remembers whether it was with the Trinitarian formula or not and she says she thinks it was, so it should be valid. No , most likely she will not be able to go to confession. Follow the procedure laid out in RCIA.Oh. I thought it meant anyone in RCIA. Ok - I just googled it and it would seem that she will have an appointed time for her first confession, maybe after having been in RCIA for a while? We will be talking to the priest this weekend and we can ask him about it then too.No , most likely she will not be able to go to confession. Follow the procedure laid out in RCIA.
