Sigh

Only on CAF would someone see something that courageous and loyal and instead start complaining and condemning it because the author used the word gay.

It made me proud of Catholics when I read that blog because it shows how kind and accepting and loving they’ve been to this individual (the author)… but then I come on here and all of a sudden I don’t feel as proud anymore…

It made me proud of Catholics when I read that blog because it shows how kind and accepting and loving they’ve been to this individual (the author)… but then I come on here and all of a sudden I don’t feel as proud anymore…

The writer of the blog is to be commended for living his faith in the face of his challenge of having same sex attractions. I don’t read condemnation in the posts that do not agree with his self ID as ‘gay’ if he is chaste anyway, although I think Post # 9 is not charitable. CAF attracts Catholics with varying degrees in catechesis and knowledge of best application of Church teaching.

Some would not agree, but it is really more than just a culture or generational clash.The point is words have power. There are good arguments that have to do with the motivation of homosexual activists that introduced and popularized the word and the movement towards normalization of gay sex and the associated clamor for rights like gay ‘marriage’ and parenting, which are all inconsistent with Church teaching.

With that, I close with the comment that I don’t look forward to a duplicate debate here on the use of ‘gay’ vs ‘same-sex-attracted.’ It’s been argued at length in another thread.

Agreed.

It is rather silly and very petty that anyone would argue over what term to use… in the end, both parties mean the exact same thing, so why on earth does it matter??

No I’d say it’s accurate…

But in hindsight of that thread almost everyone on it has been uncharitable at one point myself included…

Maybe I understood this bad.
But I do not know why so many people declare themselves gay.
I am here and never declared myself heterosexual.

   2. Stains his character?

   5. Real lesbians are actually very rare as female sexuality is somewhat fluid, additionally females can actually express their love of another female while not being considered lesbians.

2. I’m pretty sure people think about it for more than just a couple of days, most struggle with it for weeks, months, longer…

1. Actually that’s pretty common amongst guys who are only attracted too guys.
