So…the last two episodes of CA (9392 and 9393)…

Fr. Hugh Barber said something along the lines of “in the west we celebrate the Epiphany on the Sunday closest to January 6th, but we’re lucky because this year the 6th is on a Sunday so we get to celebrate it on the correct day.”

Then the next hour Jimmy Akin was asked “its not leap year this year is it?” And he said “No, this is an odd numbered year

🤨 Am I going crazy? Is this Catholic Answers Recorded?

What is the conspiracy here? People on live radio do misspeak sometimes.

Well it would make sense for one guy to make a mistake and think the 6th was on a Sunday this year when it wasnt. But then on an entirely different show with a different guest, Jimmy says this year is not an even numbered year? and the fact that both of these statements would have been true if the show had been recorded last year? and the fact that the show with Hugh Barber was just a convo between him and Cy, and the Jimmy episode did online questions only so no live callers were on either episode?

Easily could have been recorded episodes.

Probably not, i just thought it was a weird set of coincidences.

In the show uploaded AFTER both of these things happened (dated 01/03/20), Cy opens by saying this is “The first live broadcast of the new year.”

So those other ones were recorded. 🎤⬇️

So the had an error when they record the show. Why try to make it a conspiracy?

It’s Catholic Answers Live and they were playing recorded episodes without saying “these are recorded”.

I was just joking around.

Leap year affects the dates following feb 29. So the dates after the 29th this year, and prior to Feb 28 the next year.

Leap year would not affect this Epiphany.

Okay, but in that case it is still live in the same sense as a “live” music album.

This statement is true, but doesn’t really apply to what I was saying.

Hm. I guess that’s true if they were originally played on the radio and played as a “rerun”.

I just had 2 cents to spend, and here seemed a good place to share my nerdiness. 🤓

When I first saw the thread title, I thought it was about dating.

I just fell for the problem with the internet, not knowing when a joke is a joke. My bad
