Are there any Catholic apps available in Spanish? or do most apps have the ability to change the language to Spanish? I’m planning on getting a droid phone soon, and I’d love to see the apps, especially the LOTH in Spanish.

iBreviary has the LOTH in Spanish as well as a number of other languages.

OK, so we need apps for android as well as Windows Phone, Blackberry and others as well as more for the iPeople 😉

So, now the obvious questions are: What do you need? What do you want?

I’m a “retired” Franciscan friar with a background in web-based training and have time on my hands I’d like to use constructively and (naturally) faith oriented. So, if y’all have some ideas, let me know both here and at my email address (mjtaryan@gmail.com). Make sure you put “Catholic App Idea” in the subject line.

In addition, how many of you would be willing to test whatever I am able to produce and provide me with constructive, specific and helpful feedback to improve the app and help me find bugs and other flaws?

Thanks.

Pax Domini,
Bro. Martin

Logos Bible Software has a free android app. You can read any books in your Logos library, and Logos is getting more and more Catholic stuff. I sure like it. In fact, you can enter to win a free Logos Catholic library here: logos.com/catholiclibrary

I have the Confession app, the iMissal, and Catholic One (free one) on my Android. All of them are very nice, and I use them frequently for private devotions/readings but not at Mass itself.

I know that there is a very interesting application: List of sins.. It’s good when you would like to prepare for the confession and it’s not easy for you. You can make your own list of sins and have it with you - always - in your phone. There are some categories - you can choose your sins.
It’s easy to use.
What do you think about it?

Dear Father,
My favorite Catholic Android app is iGod Today, available at play.google.com: a brief sermon (perhaps 3 minutes) each day.
Then there’s the Douay Rheims software at my own Web site, bible73.com, which will run on almost any smartphone or computer.
God bless you and yours.

I have Rosary Player which is an audio version of the Rosary and Rosary-Ave Maria which has no sound. I am a new Catholic and I find these helpful as I learn to memorize and pray the prayers associated with the Rosary. These are both Android.

Another good one is Catholic One (used to be called Mass Readings):

It has daily mass readings, rosary, divine mercy chaplet, lots of prayers…
Catholic One is a free app that is now called “Laudate” (Latin for “Praise”) and is the only one I use. It is loaded with features, including Daily Readings, Liturgy of the Hours, Roman Missal Changes, The Order of Mass, a list of prayers (in English and Latin) and a feature that allows you to build a list of your own favorite prayers, and Guided Rosary, Chaplets and preparation for Confession. There are also links to the Catechism, Catholic Media, the NAB, Douay-Rheims Bible and Vatican Documents.

The Rosary part is an excellent aid during those dry days when it is hard to pay attention.

Is there any specific reason as to why it is not?
Not that I know of. I think you have to build the site to fit Tapatalk, though, and I’m not sure that they’ve done that or what resources it would take to do that.

It sure would be SO much more convenient to read the forums on my phone / tablet by using Tapatalk.
