How many of you out there express your Catholicism beliefs through art? Do you write articles or poems? What about painting? Music? How has God inspired you to utilize your God-given talents?

I write short stories and poems. I have had several published. I used to paint professionally but no longer do. Crippled hands, eyesight problems made it impossible so I gave that one up. I type poorly of course but I use spell check. Musically I can envision some of my poems as devotionals but I don’t write music. I sing in church (off key but with gusto. 😉 Seriously though, I used to sing but I consider my voice too raspy now due to age and health problems to do it anymore.

I paint and draw. Right now I am in the process of trying to decide how to go about creating religious art. I am converting from a fundamentalist background so painting religious art was not something I considered before (you know, the whole “idolotry” thing!).

In my Baptist church I played the flute and sang in the choir (as well as solos).

My husband is a musician. He writes his own music and can play most instruments by ear. He is very talented. 😃
