Rock on!

Is Bon Jovi Catholic? I never heard that one before. I don’t know that I’d call “Bed of Roses” a Catholic song just because it mentions “Holy Ghost” in the lyrics. I always thought of it as an implicitly sexual love song between a couple whose Marital Status Is Not At All Clear.

I’m not sure what you’re looking for in regards to a list of Catholic artists. There are a whole lot of pop stars that used to be Catholic but are no longer practicing. The list of practicing Catholic rock musicians seems regrettably shorter.

There is a thread that is “stickied” (that’s a word, right? ) at the top of the Popular Media forum:

CONSOLIDATED STICKY: Catholic Rock Music

There’s a lot of Catholic/Christian rock bands of varying types mentioned.

Unfortunately, seeing how most of the USA’s Christians fall under Protestantism and its beliefs, it is not very easy to find any contemporary Catholic musicians. You might be better off searching traditional Church music (chant music, etc.), and then you will find many great Catholic composers/vocalists. I prefer traditional Church music, especially chant music because it remains as ever close to the Church as possible, what, with so much secularism running rampant in even many Christians’ lives.
