Catholic Band Suggestions

Up until now I’ve only listened to John Michael Talbot - can’t go wrong there, but are there any other good Catholic bands out there?

I just looked up PJ Anderson due to our DRE taking our youth group to see him. Besides doing a Hillsong United cover, he seems pretty good.
 
Anyone? I guess I’ll probably stick with JMT. I’m just looking to find something that would interest my kids as well. I’m leery of most any Contemporary Christian Music since the lyrics might contradict our faith.
 
Not all Catholic, but I like the St Louis Jesuits, Marty Haugen, David Haas and Lenny Leblanc

I also like John Michael Talbot.

From the past I liked the Monks of the Weston Priory when Gregory Norbet was still there.

I’m older so the music probably reflects my age. 😉

Also, Jackie Francois is another one.

I haven’t listened to all of them, but some of the more well-known ones would be Matt Maher and Audrey Assad. Danielle Rose has a captivating voice, especially in her song “Crown of Thorns,” which is about a rose that wishes to be great and beautiful, but instead is used to form the crown of thorns that Jesus wears. Very meditative.

Actually, I don’t know many bands…most of the Catholic musicians I know of are solo artists.

The Stillwater Hobos are a Catholic band who do a mixture of Irish and Bluegrass.

Fun songs.
 
I just discovered one this morning through Caffeinated Conversations by Ascension Presents on youtube: His Own

They are a female trio in Nashville and they also have a women’s ministry.

I’m loving all these suggestions!
 
Look up Matt Maher. Fantastic artist, has been all over the CCM charts for years, and is a devout Catholic.
 
The Nicole Ensing band put out an album called “Riddles and Creeds” which is G.K. Chesterton poety set to music. It’s one of my favorites (after the Hillbilly Thomists!).
 
The pipe band of my home town Accrington in North West England was established in1885 making it the oldest civilian pipe band in the world.

It’s not Catholic , but here it is playing in New York on St Patrick’s Day I think ,so that may make it “honorary Catholic” .

And the man with the loudspeaker gets it wrong . It’s from England , not Scotland .

 
My church is going to Steubenville in Atlanta this summer and I just saw that they have Ike Ndolo lined up. I looked up his stuff and it sounds pretty awesome! I read up on him and saw that he’s currently the adjunct worship leader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tempe, Arizona.
