Catholic Bible study book?

I found this book “Understanding the Scriptures: A Complete Course on Bible Study” I’m thinking abut ordering it I was wondering if any one on here has read it? If so what is your opinion. Thanks

It is excellent in every way. I used it as the basis for a 23 week salvation history Bible study I led last summer/fall in our parish.

It is an excellent book - I recommend it highly. Note that it is really a textbook and it is intended for use in a class setting. I plan on using it for my own children’s catechism lessons when they get to high school. Not that it couldn’t be used for personal study, but its always good to know what a book’s intended audience is.

YES! Absolutely! I have this resource authored by Scott Hahn and it is invaluable. It refers you to the CCC and many Church documents and Early Church Fathers. It is a text book and it has excercises and study questions as well as a vocabulary section in each chapter. It is also very well illustrated. This is not a verse by verse biblical commentary but it is a very well put together story of Scripture and can be used for personal study as well as with groups.

This is one of four volumes in the Didache Series and I recommend the other three as well. They have different authors but they do complete the series…God Bless…teachccd
