I don’t seem to understand. If you are asking what kind of catholic bibles catholics use then some of them would be the New American Bible, the New Jerusalem Bible, and the Douay-Rheims Bible. What version of the Bible do Catholics use?

Hello. The Catholc Bible and the Protestant Bible(New Testatament)are the same. The Old Testaments differ in that the Protestant(KJV),and other Protestant versions removed 7 books. You can view the New American Bible (Catholic),Here; www.usccb.org .Hope this helps,Rocky. Is this the correct verse of the catholic bible 2nd Corrinthians 12:2
2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago – still in the body? I do not know; or out of the body? I do not know: God knows – was caught up right into the third heaven.

They are not three different Bibles, they are three (of the many) translations of the Bible. There is only one Bible.Thank you
Why Three different Bibles?
Is this based on the different forms of Catholicism?
The 7 books that you have heard about were the books that Martin Luther took out in the Protestant Reformation. What 7 Books?
I Have heard this before.
I use the KING JAMES VERSION.
Thank you for the link.
A Catholic Bible contains all the books of the Bible that the Catholic Church in its councils defined as inspired. The protestant Bible is short 7 Old Testament Books.Call me weird but I have an aversion to calling the bible “The Catholic Bible”. I believe the bible that Catholics use is THE bible and there are different forms of it, having different words that mean the same thing so as to help different people understand it in their own manner. Now ask me if there’s a JW bible, and a protestant bible etc LOL.
Luther took out of the Old Testament Tobias, Judith, Baruch, Ecclesiasticus, Wisdom, First and Second Machabees because they contradicted his personal doctrines. He considered his own beliefs superior to Scripture. What 7 Books?

The original 1611 KJV of the Bible included these 7 books:Wisdom,Sirach.Judith,Baruch,1Maccabees and 2 Maccabees. They included these Books up till the Mid1800’s.Some Protestants have never researched where the Bible came from or know they removed 7 complete books. This is not the individual Protestants fault but if I were a Protestant I would DEMAND from my Minister why I was never told.I would want to know why these Books were considered “Inspired” for over one thousand, eight hundred yrs.Read in Mass(Church),Believed, taught and lived and all of a sudden a Protestant denomination decided to remove them and they were lost to millions of our Protestant Brothers and Sisters. What 7 Books?

I never said they weren’t different… they are very different as a matter of fact. One is incomplete and the other is complete. So the so-called “Catholic Bible” is THE Bible, and others are not.A Catholic Bible contains all the books of the Bible that the Catholic Church in its councils defined as inspired. The protestant Bible is short 7 Old Testament Books.
So one must make the distinction between a protestant Bible and a Catholic Bible as there is a difference.
Yes, this is true, but unfortunately we live in a world that unless you are talking to a Catholic when you say the word “Bible” this will be thinking of the protestant Bible.I never said they weren’t different… they are very different as a matter of fact. One is incomplete and the other is complete. So the so-called “Catholic Bible” is THE Bible, and others are not.
I use these for Catholic Bibles:Thank you for the replies.

I agree and my religion also teaches that works are needed. This is one of our many similarities with the Catholic faith.Luther took out of the Old Testament Tobias, Judith, Baruch, Ecclesiasticus, Wisdom, First and Second Machabees because they contradicted his personal doctrines. He considered his own beliefs superior to Scripture.
In the New Testament he did not consider James and Hebrews inspired, again because they contradicted his own beliefs.
As an example, Luther believed we are saved by faith alone but the book of James specifically states the opposite which is why Luther did not like it.
James 2:24-26
22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works.
23 Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called “the friend of God.”
24 See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
25 And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route?
26 For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
So there isn’t an official translation but many different ones used?Catholics use a number of different versions of the Bible. Here are some with links to online Bibles where appropriate:
Revised Standard Version
New American Bible (the United State’s Official Bible for liturgical use)
New Jerusalem Bible
New Revised Standard Version
I’m sure there is more but I can’t think of them right now. God bless!
