Check the flyleaf - if there is an Imprimatur and a Nihil Obstat, then it is a Catholic Bible. There are definitely some bibles that are more Catholic than others(D-R,RSV,Ignatius,NAB) but is there is an list official of bibles that are declared “Catholic.”
Go to the USCCB website (US Conference of Catholic Bishops) click on bibles and click again on the approved translations. They have several. There are definitely some bibles that are more Catholic than others(D-R,RSV,Ignatius,NAB) but is there is an list official of bibles that are declared “Catholic.”
You may also go to a Catholic bookstore and look at their bibles. If you are at another bookstore open the front of the bible and look for the Imprimitur and Nihil Obstat. These books are also approved by the Church.Go to the USCCB website (US Conference of Catholic Bishops) click on bibles and click again on the approved translations. They have several.
