The last thing I would want in a physician is someone who will have any concerns or motivations beyond making my life as long and as comfortable as possible. The idea that my physician may secretly prefer that I was dead is more than a little chilling.

Really, if they want to go through with this, they should create a new profession. Since killer/executioner sounds bad we can give them a nice name. They can go to professional school and get a degree in learning how to kill people as quickly an painlessly as possible. That way, instead of tainting doctors these killing professionals can perform abortion and euthanasia services.
