Washington, DC – When members of Congress vote today on revoking taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business, the nation’s Catholic bishops are joining pro-life organizations in urging a yes vote.

i understand why pro-life people are opposed to active funding of abortion. i am also pro-life. i would also like to submit that the tax exempt status of every religious organization amounts to a government subsidy. is it not hypocritical to accept a government subsidy for one set of beliefs, while opposing it for another set of beliefs?
