Hello all!

Let this be a nice calm place where we can discuss Catholic books and recommend some to others. Currently I am thinking about buying St. Ignatius’ spiritual exercises. Maybe the imitation of Christ.

How about you?

Hello!

I’m currently reading “Why We’re Catholic” by Trent Horn and planning on getting “Mere Christianity” by C.S Lewis since many have spoken rather well of it. St Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises are definitely a useful resource to cultivate one’s prayer life.

Those are both great books. I might get Why We’re Catholic soon, how are you liking it? I just bought The Catholic Young Man’s Guide because a friend recommended it. I hope it’s useful lol.

I’ve just started reading it recently, actually. I’m lovin’ it so far though, and would definitely recommend to any Catholic as it’s a useful resource on why we believe what we believe which would strengthen and firm us in our Faith. I’ll check the book out, thanks for sharing 😃

The imitation of Christ is a real treasure of a book you won’t regret grabbing a copy

Currently reading St Augustine’s confessions, I had got part way through it previously and never quite got through it due to one thing or another at the time

Im reading a few:

Waking Up Catholic: A Guide to Catholic Beliefs for Converts, Reverts, and Anyone Becoming Catholic By Chad R. Torgerson

Rome Sweet Home by Scott Hahn

The Secret of the Rosary by St. Louis de Montfort

On Being Catholic by Thomas Howard

St. John’s Gospel by Stephen K Ray

There are many more I want to read. Love to read but we move in four days and so no more spending money. I’m hoping the library where we are moving Is a bit better than here.

The Power of Silence by Cardinal Robert Sarah
The Diary of St. Faustina
In His Hands- The Diary of JP2

I LOVE to read and right now I am reading Dante’s Inferno. I’ve been meaning to for the longest time and now I am doing it. I’m using Anthony Esolen’s translation.

I just found 7 Secrets of the Eucharist by Vinny Flynn at the thrift store, and Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith by Fr. Robert Barron. I’m finishing Keep The Faith, Change the Church by James E. Muller. It’s essentially the story of The Voice of the Faithful.

I’m reading Just Whatever by Matt Nelson. It’s very interesting!! 🙂

I like reading that one book on the Sacred Heart by Father John Croiset. The Glories of Mary was amazing. Saint Louis de Monfort’s are just as good.
