I’m shocked and appalled @FrDavid96

Such a betrayal. How could you do this?

An e book… an E BOOK?!

E books will never compare to the intoxicating scent of paper and binding or the feel of a heavy Bible in the palms.

Down with e books!

My Bibles are throughout the house. These are books by Saints, about spirituality, about catechesis, some compare Catholicism with Protestantism, and are mostly non-fiction. In fiction I have Ellis Peter’s Brother Cadfael Mysteries, and a complete set of Fr. Brown Mysteries by Chesterton (one thick book). Back to non-fiction there is Denzinger, The Sources of Catholic Dogma, and The Basic 16 Documents of Vatican II, and others. It’s nice now to be able to get Papal and other Church documents online. The combination of books and Internet gives us wonderful access to God’s Word and world.

That’s a gorgeous collection. Very blessed to have that.

And yes, Christians are so blessed today with the prevalence of books and the Internet. Never before in history have so many been able to become so educated about such a wide variety of topics.

Think of even 50 years ago, how much harder it was to learn things and research specific questions.

It looks like I’m in great company here! I love my library!!

Those are just the children’s books though. To be fair, I host Christian Book Fairs at schools. If y’all book worms want to be Book Angels, pls let me know : )

Please consider donating books to the Christian Book Fair a 501c3 nonprofit. The organization will accept books as long as they do not go against Catholic teachings of virtues and morals… Christian inspired.

Public libraries are staring to carry more and more books that are against Catholic teachings and natural law even in the children’s section. Please understand that I hope there will be public Christian libraries in the future as an alternative to secular libraries. Please pray for the Christian Book Fair and libraries that uphold Catholic virtues and morals and understanding of natural law. God bless.

Lol…rookie…stone tablets and papyrus scrolls are the real deal!

Bah, mere childs play.

Cuneiform tablets and cave painting is the real deal!

Ok ha ha but parents are becoming more aware of the addictivness of electronics and are steering further away…free or cheap is enticing, but numerous studies conclude that electronics can be addictive…paper has no known addictive qualities.

There are no studies that indicate an addictive nature to paper!!! Collecting is a different kind of issue. And of all things to collect, books that are wholesome and appreciated for their reading quality is not the worst…most would say acceptable or even great : )

When I go to the local library, I can read books by Pope Francis, I can read a Jerusalem bible, and although he was never Catholic, he was still a Christian, I can read CS Lewis’s biography. Very sad life that man had. Of course, you’re right about the anti Christian books, but maybe it’s something about where I live, but there aren’t a whole lot of them. I’m honestly surprised they carry anything Catholic because of where I live.

Possibly you just have not stumbled upon them. I have found books in our local Public library with children’s books that are opposing natural law…even before I was a Christian i would not have wanted or let my children read those books. Even the liberal purple haired heathen I was, I had enough sense to know to teach kids the right way. By God’s Grace for sure!

C.S. Lewis was a very catholic, Anglo-Catholic Anglican.

His writings about Christianity are almost always fully orthodox and Catholic.

I can’t remember ever reading anything he wrote which was heterodox or anti-Catholic.

I firmly believe he’s a Saint and I have no problem entreating his prayer.

Saint C.S. Lewis, pray for us!

You know what, you’re probably right to some extent. He was a wonderful Christian, and toward the end of his life, apparently he may have had some interest in Eastern Orthodoxy. He was not exactly happy with the way things were going in the Anglican communion. But that’s a post for another day.

Here’s most of my wife’s and mine. The main 3 shelves you see in the photo, plus the right-third of the shelf above those (the white binder, and everything to the right, including another white binder that got cut off, is apologetics stuff and encyclicals).
Missing from the photo are our main Bibles (hers is a NAB, mine is the Little Rock Study Bible (also NAB)), the Catechism, Handbook of Prayers, Theology and Sanity (currently reading), Answering Atheism (loaned to my brother), and the books that the kids use for homeschooling (probably would take about another 1/2 shelf of space).
